You will work as a Software Engineer responsible for the maintenance and future specification updates of the Product Generation Function (PGF) for the EUMETSAT Metop-SG mission.
\n
Your work will focus on evolving and maintaining state-of-the-art satellite data processing software during the early mission phases to reach operational quality.
\n
Developing, evolving, and maintaining data processing algorithms for Metop-SG sensors, integrating scientific updates from EUMETSAT during commissioning and operational phases.
\n
Performing unit testing of the developed software, ensuring proper testing coverage and robustness.
\n
Ensuring the integration of processing algorithms within a distributed payload processing framework based on Apache Kafka and Apache Storm.
\n
Working in a GNU/Linux environment to develop, test, and optimize the software.
\n
Coordinating closely with the validation team during validation campaigns to guarantee software quality, performance, and operational readiness.
\n
Contributing to technical documentation and providing support in interactions with customers and stakeholders.
\n
Applying good software development practices and coding standards to ensure maintainability and performance.
\n
Experience with Java development and unit testing, including code optimization and efficient use of memory and CPU resources.
\n
Experience working with the GNU/Linux operating system.
\n
Good understanding of software development best practices and coding standards.
\n
Intermediate level of English (minimum).
\n
Availability to work in a hybrid model in Madrid.
