Responsibilities
As a Senior Catastrophe Risk Modeler you will:
* Collect, analyze, and process large data sets from clients and national/international sources.
* Design and implement data pipelines to process large geospatial and temporal datasets from multiple sources.
* Collaboratively write code to manipulate and analyze large, complex numeric and geospatial data sets.
* Rigorously evaluate model performance and validate them against historical data.
* Present model results and data analysis findings to team members and clients with diverse scientific and statistical backgrounds.
* Utilize the KatRisk Software Suite and interpret results for clients and internal studies.
Qualifications
We require:
* Master’s degree or Ph.D. with or without a master’s.
* Strong proficiency in R or Python.
* Knowledge of a Linux user environment and command-line operation.
* Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS); programmatically manipulate geospatial data is highly desirable.
* Experience in collecting, manipulating, and processing large data sets.
* Excellent collaboration skills in a remote work environment.
* Ability to work under minimal supervision.
