About the role:
The technical engineering role provides engineering expertise and value selling support to Sales based on breadth of technical knowledge and extensive experience in the Industrial market. This role will support field-based technical Service needs.
The technical engineer plays a key role in developing and detailing the value proposition for new customer sales opportunities and in preventing the loss of existing business under competitive threat.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Demonstrate Safety Leadership and ensure HSSE standards are achieved & maintained
2. Support internal and external customers as an industrial application expert
3. Assist division sales teams in acquiring new business
4. Provide high-quality technical training to internal and external partners
5. Work with sales to deliver efficient, timely solutions to customer process and product issues using sound problem-solving techniques
6. Collaborate with Technology and Marketing on new product development and field feedback
7. Coordinate with Global Product managers to align local market needs and provide input on product fronts
8. Document and share case studies demonstrating benefits of Castrol products and services
9. Conduct field testing of new and reformulated products & services
10. Participate or lead projects supporting the Industrial strategy
11. Mentor and train less experienced salespeople and engineers
12. Analyze Used Oil Analysis reports to enable informed decision-making
Education:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent (Mechanical, Chemical, Lubrication, Manufacturing, or related field)
Experience:
* Minimum 5 years of industrial technical experience
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and other engineering tools
* Expertise in Metalworking fluids and High-Performance Lubricants across various market segments
* Strong value selling and interpersonal skills
* Knowledge of sustainability practices (energy savings, water reuse, net zero) is preferred
* Skilled in structured problem-solving techniques
