RESPONSIBILITIES

The Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) is looking for a Lab Technician to be part of the group Epigenetics and Plant Development. We are seeking a motivated candidate to join our team investigating the regulatory mechanisms of plant chilling responses using strawberry as a model system. The successful candidate will perform plant tissue culture and in vitro transformation, apply core molecular biology techniques, and assist other members of the research group.
The tasks are included within the framework of the project ERC Consolidator Grant (ERC-CoG2025) “Regulatory mechanisms underlying chilling responses: towards the design of climate-smart plants” (tuneCHILL; GAP-101229978).
REQUIREMENTS:
Educational requirements:
- Applicants should hold a degree in Biological Sciences or a related field.
- Holding a Master’s degree will be an advantage.
- Candidates must be fluent in English and Spanish/Catalan.
Skills:
- Plant in vitro culture and transformation - essential.
- Basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, cloning strategies) – essential.
- Strong attention to detail and organization – essential.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively - essential.
- Previous work with Fragaria species - desirable.
Experience:
- Hands-on experience in a laboratory setting.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Contract Duration: 2 years with possibility of extension.
Hours/week: full time.
