With the integration of Deimos and strategic participation in Hispasat and Hisdesat, we are scaling Europe’s space autonomy and contributing to flagship programs like IRIS², Galileo, EGNOS, and Copernicus. /p pstrong What will you do? /strong /p ulli Lead the technical definition and delivery of optical payloads for Earth Observation missions. /lili Act as the technical authority for optical payloads within the spacecraft manufacturer. /lili Define system-level requirements and ensure payload performance meets mission objectives. /lili Manage payload procurement activities and oversee subcontractor performance. /lili Evaluate subcontractor optical designs at system level, ensuring compliance with requirements. /lili Perform payload performance modelling and analysis using tools such as Zemax, Code V, MATLAB, Python, and STK. /lili Ensure alignment with space mission lifecycles and applicable standards (ECSS, NASA, ISO). /lili Drive end-to-end payload performance, balancing cost, schedule, and risk constraints. /lili Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders across the project lifecycle. /lili Support technical decision-making and contribute to overall mission success. /li /ul pstrong What are we looking for? /strong /p ulli Recognized engineering degree (MSc or PhD) in Optical Engineering, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. /lili Proven experience in payload procurement and subcontractor management. /lili Strong knowledge of optical imaging principles, detectors, and calibration. /lili Experience evaluating optical payload designs at system level. /lili Experience with payload performance modelling and analysis tools (Zemax, Code V, MATLAB, Python, STK). /lili Familiarity with space mission lifecycles and standards (ECSS, NASA, ISO). /lili Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. /lili Advanced proficiency in Python. /li /ul p Don’t worry if you don’t meet 100% of the requirements.
