The Opportunity
The business is at an inflection point where legal needs to evolve into a defined strategic function, not simply a reactive support capability. This is a rare opportunity to build and lead the legal function from the ground up, shaping how legal enables growth, manages risk, and supports decision-making at scale. Operating across jurisdictions and digital ecosystems, the company faces sophisticated legal questions spanning intellectual property, platform enforcement, privacy, regulatory compliance, and governance. The mandate is to establish the legal operating model, define priorities, and serve as a strategic partner to leadership.
The Role
This is the most senior legal role in the company, partnering directly with the CEO and executive leadership team.
The initial focus is on intellectual property and platform-related risk, including:
* Developing and leading trademark and copyright strategy
* Overseeing platform enforcement and anti-infringement matters
* Structuring dispute, takedown, and escalation approaches across digital platforms
* Managing IP risk in a fast-moving product environment
Beyond IP, the scope expands into broader strategic legal leadership, including:
* Shaping the company’s approach to regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, DSA, and DMCA
* Advising leadership on legal and commercial risk across multiple jurisdictions
* Designing scalable legal processes, governance, and decision-making frameworks
* Defining how and when external counsel is leveraged
