PpbAPM Terminals /b /ppThis role provides strategic leadership and direction across all operations technical and IT functions of the container terminal. A core responsibility is to drive maximum terminal productivity while delivering outstanding service to both external clientssuch as shipping linesand internal stakeholders. The role contributes to the development and implementation of strategies aimed at optimizing terminal performance within the existing operational framework and constraints. /ppThe position oversees the majority of the ports key functions ensuring a safe working environment while maintaining high productivity and cost efficiency. As a key member of the terminals leadership team this role plays a critical part in shaping the facilitys continued growth and development. /ph3PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES : /h3pThis role provides comprehensive leadership and strategic direction for all port operations. It is instrumental in defining and executing both short- and long-term goals policies and expansion plans aligned with the overall vision of APM Terminals. /pulliProvide strategic leadership across port operations ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and policies. /liliEstablish and implement operational standards procedures and long-range goals to support sustainable terminal growth. /liliDefine develop and execute local strategies for key functional departments in line with APM Terminals vision business plan and budget. /liliOversee day-to-day operations ensuring optimal efficiency productivity and customer satisfaction across all functional areas. /liliLead the selection negotiation and execution of agreements with suppliers and customers ensuring service levels are consistently met and maintained. /liliAct as a key member of steering committees for major projects and initiatives; define project management strategies and ensure timely delivery of milestones. /liliProvide strategic guidance promoting the use of technology to enhance operational efficiency cost-effectiveness and service quality. /liliEnsure full compliance with HSSE (Health Safety Security and Environment) standards and promote a culture of safety across the terminal. /liliDeliver customer service aligned with the highest international standards. /liliPromote and enforce safe working practices aiming to minimize lost-time injuries. /liliDrive cost-efficient operations exceeding current industry benchmarks. /liliMaintain close coordination with shipping lines customs brokers trucking companies customs and port authorities and other regulatory agencies. /liliCollaborate with external consultants vendors and suppliers to ensure successful delivery of diverse project objectives. /liliMonitor and evaluate performance against critical KPIs policies and operational guidelines. /liliPrepare manage and deliver budgetary targets across all reporting functions. /liliEnsure all operational staff are trained in best practices including advanced operational strategies and new technologies. /liliAchieve operational performance standards that meet or exceed the expectations of APM Terminals and its customers in terms of efficiency productivity and reliability. /liliEnsure compliance with APM Terminals global standards for container terminal operations. /liliEngage with labor unions (where applicable) and represent the company in collective bargaining and long-term contract negotiations to maintain industrial harmony. /liliOversee employee performance management including training appraisals disciplinary actions and grievance resolution. /liliPlay a key role in driving improvements across operational performance through strategic initiatives and innovation /liliTake ownership of implementing and executing major initiatives that align with company objectives. /liliContinuously improve existing methodologies operational processes and performance metrics. /liliOperate within a highly complex multi-dimensional environment that demands both strategic vision and operational excellence. /li /ulpThe position reports directly to the Head of West Med Terminals The position will have functional reporting to the Regional CCO for functional direction The scope of the position is primarily domestic /ph3WORK / BUSINESS divergent especially in situations of labor bargaining or workers representative groups /li /ulpbExternal : /b /pulliPort Authority /liliContractors /liliBusiness Partners /liliCustomers /liliExternal Consultants /liliVendors Suppliers /liliRepresentatives of shipping lines /liliLabour Unions /liliThe contact here in a number of cases will be divergent /li /ulh3Qualification : /h3ulliRequires University degree or Engineering /liliA university degree in logistics maritime and port management process / industrial engineering labor relations or a marine qualification at least at Master Mariner (1st Class) levelwith prior vessel commandis highly advantageous. /liliA minimum of 3 years of experience in managing technical matters and conducting negotiations with external stakeholders. /liliProven experience in container port operations is required. /liliStrong project management skills are essential with a demonstrated ability to lead and deliver complex initiatives. /liliIn-depth understanding of the container shipping industry including strong relationships with shipping lines and other key stakeholders. /liliProven track record in process improvement cost control and productivity enhancement including the design and implementation of new operational procedures. /liliSolid experience in financial planning including budgeting and financial reporting /liliDemonstrated ability to achieve results while cultivating a collaborative team environment and supporting employee development. /liliExperience engaging with labor unions (where applicable) including participation in long-term collective bargaining negotiations to ensure a stable and harmonious industrial environment. /liliStrong negotiation and conflict resolution skills. /liliExcellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization. /liliSuperior analytical abilities to support data-driven decision-making. /liliExtensive knowledge of APM Terminals operational practices is highly beneficial. /liliProven leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate teams and secure cross-functional collaboration to meet strategic objectives.
