Rotating Equipment Reliability Engineer
Job Summary:
Flowserve is seeking a Rotating Equipment Reliability Engineer to provide expert technical support for pumps and mechanical seals at key customers within Spain and Italy.
Your primary goal will be to increase MTBR ofEnd User rotating equipment as part of Flowserve’s Life Cycle Advantage (LCA) programs. You will act as atechnical expert and troubleshooter for centrifugal pumps and mechanical seals, as well as specialist sealing on other rotating equipment such as steam turbines, compressors, centrifuges, mixers, and agitators.
Your Role:
1. You will analyze equipment failure trends across large populations of Customersrotating machines,identifying focus areas for reducing the overall number of repairs within LCA programs.
2. For complex Bad Actors and critical failures, you will assess damagedcomponents and determine the physical interactions thatled to the observed defects.
3. Using Root Cause Analysis methods you willdig deeper into the machine, pumping systems, repair processes and operating practicesto define theunderlying reasons for failure.
4. Led by your RCA, you will definethe appropriate solutionssuch as equipment upgradesto latest technology or changes in operating procedures and practices.
5. Where equipment upgrades are required, you will identify opportunities where Flowserve equipment and/or services can help to increase reliability, reduce energy consumption, or reduce operational costs. You will then support the relevant Engineering Teams and Sales as they generate the proposal.
Working as part of a team of Engineers supporting LCA programs across Europe and the Middle East, you will be responsible forkey customers in Spain and Italy. You will work directly with End Users, visiting their facilitiesas necessary to perform your function. You will also work closely with LCAApplication Engineers, Sales, and variousother specialist Flowserve Engineering teams.
Your Profile:
Essential Qualifications:
6. 3+ years previous experience as a Rotating Equipment Engineer, Machinery Engineer, or similar Engineering role with significant exposure to rotating equipment.
7. Previous experience of troubleshootingcentrifugal pumpsand/or mechanical seals.
8. Previous experience performing and leading Root Cause Failure Analysis.
9. Excellent data analytics skills with a highproficiency in Microsoft Excel.
10. Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering field
11. Highly proficient in both Spanish and English (minimum CEFR grade C1 or equivalent although formal qualification not required).
Desirable Criteria and Qualifications:
12. Working knowledge of API-610 and API-682
13. Working knowledge in condition monitoring techniques (vibration monitoring, oil analysis etc).
14. Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
15. Experience with Steam Turbines, Compressors, Centrifuges, Mixers & Agitators.
Location:
16. Candidate must be located within Spain, ideally near Tarragona. Home working from other locations within Spain will also be considered.
17. Position requires approximately 60%travel. A company car will be provided.
