We are looking for a Senior Category Manager Capex in EMEA. This role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders and managing strategic supplier relationships to deliver cost-effective, high-quality solutions. The position reports to the Global Lead, Capital Equipment, and can be based in Europe.
Key responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute comprehensive commodity strategies aligned with business goals
2. Lead sourcing projects including RFx, supplier consolidation, and continuous improvement initiatives
3. Define negotiation strategies focusing on supplier profiles, costs, and total cost of ownership (TCO)
4. Partner with engineering, operations, quality, and procurement teams to capture category requirements
5. Manage strategic suppliers through formal Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) processes
6. Support new product development (NPD) teams through preferred supplier programs
7. Monitor and mitigate supplier risks across all responsible categories
8. Ensure adherence to Capital & Tooling procurement policies and processes
9. Present commodity strategies and project updates during leadership reviews
10. Support annual operational planning (AOP) with cross-functional stakeholders
What will make you successful:
11. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
12. 5 to 10 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or operations
13. At least 3 years of tooling management experience, preferably in industrial manufacturing
14. Proven competence in supplier assessment, negotiation, and selection
15. Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills
16. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
17. Ability to manage conflict and facilitate productive discussions
18. Experience working in cross-functional, global teams
19. Ability to travel up to 25%
20. Knowledge of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and risk mitigation practices
