**Key Responsibilities**:
- Hands on activities including design, chip fabrication and testing of TFLN and similar electro-optics materials, e.g. BTO.
- Take a leading technical role in the development of electro-optical modulators within the PIXEurope Pilot Line.
- Simulate, model, and validate high-speed devices, benchmarking against the state of the art.
- Interface with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the establishment of high-quality fabrication workflows.
This position will report to **Prof. Dr. Valerio Pruneri, Director of the European Chips JU Pilot Line PIXEurope.**

Applicants must hold a PhD degree in Science or Engineering, preferably in fields related to photonics, materials science, or electrical engineering.
- Electro-optical modulation with integrated photonics and semiconductor manufacturing.
- Processing and patterning of monolithic and/or hybrid TFLN, or other electro-optic materials, including techniques such as etching, deposition of passive layers, and bonding.
- Photonic and electrical simulation tools.
- Characterization of high-speed electro-optical devices.
- Electrical and photonic layout design (e.g. Ipkiss from Luceda Photonics or GDSFactory).
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven track record in industry-oriented research, ideally involving joint R&D;&E; projects with end-users.
- Experience in hybrid optoelectronic device testing and simulation, particularly devices based on TFLN.
- Experience in Χ2 non-linear platforms for electro-optical operation
