As part of AWS Infrastructure Operation Logistics, you’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest safety and security standards while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. We are looking for a Logistics Specialist to review Data Center inventory, in‑bound shipments, and ongoing demand to maintain proper stock levels in all locations to support build and repair activities.
Key job responsibilities
* Understand all aspects of transportation, shipping and receiving as well as inventory control, adhere to strict safety standards, maintain high quality, and work on powered equipment (i.e. server lifter).
* Complete manual tasks such as assemble, address, and arrange for the shipment of materials, handle incoming shipments, unpack boxes and verify contents.
* Load and unload large equipment utilizing pallet jacks.
* Maintain accountability of in‑stock components as well as receive and process inbound shipments.
* Assist with ongoing requests to ensure proper stock levels of are maintained and distributed to all locations.
* Work with the Logistics Manager to create plans to optimize the flow and delivery of parts.
* Work with Datacenter Operations Technicians to fulfill parts and equipment deliveries quickly and accurately.
* Work with Procurement teams to ensure inbound equipment orders are complete and delivered to appropriate Data Center Locations.
* Regular and ongoing communication with vendors to resolve issues and help them understand our business requirements.
* Support an environment that operates 24/7.
* Receive parts, maintain inventory, and check‑out parts as needed to Data Center Technicians and Engineers.
* Load and unload shipments and transport parts, racks, and equipment between different locations, including localized driving of a variety of transportation vehicles.
* Handle sensitive/classified client materials.
* Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts.
* Occasionally work in an office environment.
A day in the life
* Position works in‑person at a site location.
* Data entry and resolve questions from peer organizations.
* Maintain up‑to‑date metrics dashboards and/or excel spreadsheets and create reports for internal and external customers and management as required.
* Ensure that all billing associated with inventory supply chain is accurate, validated and ready for processing.
* Assemble, address, stamp and arrange for the shipment of merchandise and materials.
* Assist in daily scheduling of deliveries and pick‑ups to and from production locations.
* Keep precise records of all commodities going in and out of company.
* Frequent push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
* Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
* Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment.
* Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance.
* Push or pull heavy objects into position.
* Work in a noisy environment.
* Stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods of time.
* Occasionally be exposed to cold or hot weather.
* Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts.
* Noise level varies and may be loud.
* This team will work overtime as needed by the business.

Basic Qualifications
* 1+ year of logistics experience — shipping & receiving, inventory and warehousing practices.
* Experience with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
* A valid driver’s license is required.
Preferred Qualifications
* 1+ year of material forecasting experience.
* 1+ year of experience in transportation.
