Java Senior Software Engineer
07800 Ibiza, Balearic Islands, JR Spain
About Us
We are a software and data platform that brings carbon intelligence to global commodity industries.
By connecting supply-chain data, regulations, and real-world emissions, we enable producers, traders, consumers, and regulators to understand and manage the true carbon intensity of their decisions. Our multi-tenant B2B SaaS platform is intelligence-first — AI and automation are built into the user experience by default. We're currently in Stealth mode, but will launch in late Q4 2025.
The role
We’re looking for a software engineer who wants to solve real business problems through clean, reliable, and scalable software. You’ll join a small, sharp, and collaborative team where engineers shape architecture, product, and delivery decisions alike. You’ll work primarily across our backend stack, but you’ll also have the opportunity to touch data and frontend systems as we evolve.
What you’ll do
Design and build backend services that power our data and intelligence platform.
Own features end-to-end—from understanding business context to shipping and maintaining production code.
Collaborate directly with product and data teams to translate complex domain logic into simple, maintainable software.
Contribute to a high‑quality codebase through reviews, clear design, and thoughtful trade‑offs.
(Optional) Explore and contribute to related areas such as data pipelines, orchestration, or frontend development.
Primary technologies for the role
Python
Async frameworks (FastAPI, Sanic, etc.)
PostgreSQL, Redis
AWS or equivalent cloud services
What we’re looking for
Strong fundamentals in Python and web backend development.
Solid understanding of databases, async execution, and APIs.
Curious about how technology creates business value—beyond just the task.
Comfortable working independently, with a sense of ownership and follow‑through.
(Bonus) Experience in data‑heavy systems, B2B SaaS, or tech‑based consulting.
(Nice to have) Interest in commodities, energy transition, or carbon markets.
Why Us
Focus on building high‑quality scalable solutions, not just keeping lights on.
A chance to shape software that matters in the global energy transition.
Monthly team meet‑ups across Europe (travel covered).
How to apply
Send us a short note about yourself, what excites you about the role, and a link to your profile (CV, GitHub, LinkedIn, or others).
