CREAF is seeking a research technician, for MORE4NATURE project ("Empowering citizens in collaborative environmental compliance assurance via MOnitoring, REporting and action") with ref. number 101133983 and SAGE project ("The Data Space for a Sustainable Green Europe") with ref. number 101195471 in the Horizon Europe program and funded by the European Commission
More4nature ("Empowering citizens in collaborative environmental compliance assurance via Monitoring, Reporting and action") with ref. 101133983 in the Horizon Europe program and funded by the European Commission under the HORIZON-CL6-2023-GOVERNANCE-01 call. The project aims to trigger transformative change in conservation efforts regarding zero pollution, biodiversity protection and deforestation prevention by including citizens and communities as key actors in collaborative environmental compliance assurance (ECA). Citizen Science (CS) Initiatives present innovative ways of joint data and knowledge production and of empowering citizens in sustainable natural resource management. more4nature uses a socio-technical approach to address these challenges and deepen the role of citizens and communities in ECA by i) strengthening the capacity of existing CS initiatives to provide relevant and valid data, ii) fostering and supporting collaboration and partnerships among citizen science initiatives and authorities to cover data gaps and shape policy monitoring frameworks, iii) developing and testing tools to validate data obtained from CS initiatives, thus contributing to the integration of such data sources in environmental governance, iv) making CGD available as a node in the Green Deal Data Space. more4nature will ensure uptake and impact by engaging 162 existing CSIs and 98 authorities and national agencies in 40 cases.
SAGE (“The Data Space for a Sustainable Green Europe”) with ref. 101195471 in the Horizon Europe program and funded by the European Commission under the DIGITAL-2024-CLOUD-AI-06call. SAGE will establish a fully operational Green Deal Data Space (GDDS) aimed at enhancing the accessibility, integration, and utilization of green and environmental data across the EU to support key pillars of the European Green Deal (EGD)—Zero Pollution, Climate Adaptation, Biodiversity, and the Circular Economy Action Plan. SAGE leverages outcomes from the European Strategy for Data and research facilitated by Horizon Europe. SAGE's outcomes include seamlessly integrating fragmented environmental data through federation, enriching data with consistent quality, validation, and interoperable metadata, and enhancing capabilities for data transformation, processing, analysis, forecasting, target setting, and performance monitoring. Targeting businesses seeking compliance with EGD regulations, government bodies optimizing environmental impact, citizens and citizen scientists engaging in environmental stewardship, and researchers aiming to deepen our environmental understanding, SAGE aspires to foster informed decision-making and policy formulation based on robust data and evidence.
A full-time contract (37.5 hours/week), with a planned incorporation in January 2026, until the projects are completed (26 meses). The offered salary is €29,157.43 gross per year (corresponding to category T3B).
