Head of Europe TIDES Discovery Business Development Overview: The incumbent will lead a team to cultivate business relationships and opportunities to generate revenue with prospective and existing clients for WuXi TIDES, a WuXi AppTec company. The role supports the rapidly growing oligo and peptide (O&P) Contract Research, Development and Manufacture (CDMO) business, working closely with Europe and global business development leaders to pursue new business leads, follow up on critical issues, and attend to customer inquiries. This position reports directly to the VP, Head of STA & Tides Business Development and Project Management Europe.
Responsibilities Lead a team to prospect for oligo and peptide new drug discovery companies that would benefit from the TIDES CRDMO model.
Manage strategic relationships with selected key accounts within the TIDES Discovery business in Europe, attending conferences and meetings to present TIDES services to prospective and existing clients via email, phone and web‑conferencing systems.
Act upon, refer to and follow up on leads from both sales and marketing campaigns.
Increase awareness of TIDES’s marketing initiatives, including scheduling meetings for trade‑shows and driving registrations for webinars and seminars.
Maintain knowledge of industry trends, funding, regulatory influence, mergers and acquisitions, licensing of products/technologies, government/private grants and contacts, new drug development approvals, related patent grants and notifications, and market growth of small, medium and large‑cap companies.
Develop a social network of industry‑related contacts via LinkedIn and other social networking platforms.
Strategize quarterly business development plans and benchmark performance for continued success.
Travel to local client meetings and trade‑shows to assist the Business Development team as required.
Propose new ideas and strategies to increase performance and drive personal and team goals.
