Job Overview The New Business Market Development Manager (MDM) for NM, AZ & Western TX manages the business development process in their respective region. The goal is to efficiently and systematically increase Ace’s market share via our new store growth strategy.

What You’ll Do

Recruit, educate, and motivate potential candidates, including sales, business planning, and consulting with existing Ace retailers, new investors, and competitor conversion or acquisition candidates. Determine when to say ‘yes’ and when to say ‘no’, assess prospect business acumen, character, competence, and financial wherewithal, and close opportunities.

Execute the technical operating procedures from Interest-to-Application, including demographic work, trade potential, sales forecasting, site audit, expansion area notification, proforma creation, stakeholder approval, letter of intent, financing assistance, and completion of the Ace membership application following SOPs.

Develop the market by pursuing every opportunity, including new investors, existing retailers, conversion prospects, acquisitions, open markets, real estate sites, lender relationships, broker relationships, and public relations. Lead momentum creation with market diligence and Ace advocacy.

What You Need To Succeed

Minimum of 5 years experience in retailing, franchising, real estate, or market development.

College degree in business preferred but not required.

Ability to develop, secure, and close new store and/or conversion opportunities.

Strong negotiation and presentation skills.

Interpersonal skills to build trust, respect, and understanding.

Business acumen – understand economics of business and retailing, interpret financials.

Understanding of lease negotiation process.

Proficiency in capitalization, financing methods, and processes.

Knowledge of store density vs. cannibalization impacts on Ace brand.

Franchise intelligence – understand franchise competitors and positioning.

Ability to create strong coalitions with Retail Operations (Director, Regional Manager, Project Manager, District Manager).

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Willingness to work flexible hours and travel overnight (3–4 days/week).

Compensation Details $100,000 - $128,600 per year.
