Key Mission:
Support the Chief Legal Officer in the oversight and coordination of material legal matters across the portfolio.
Drive consistent legal risk assessment, escalation and executive-level reporting across the organisation.
Main Accountabilities:
Identify, assess and proactively support managing legal and contractual risks, proposing practical and commercially sound mitigation strategies and escalations where appropriate.
Support in drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex transactional and project documentation; analyse and advise on complex legal issues arising across the business.
Support in managing claims and contentious matters, where relevant, including coordinating dispute strategy with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
Coordinate and efficiently manage external counsel, with a strong focus on quality, responsiveness and cost control.
Monitor legal and regulatory developments, share knowledge and best practices and contribute to internal training where appropriate.
Ensure compliance with Ocean Winds’ internal policies and applicable laws, fostering a strong culture of ethics and compliance in coordination with the OW Compliance team.
Contribute to continuous improvement of legal processes, operational efficiency and executive decision-making, including clear, structured reporting where needed.
Academic Background:
Law bachelor’s degree; fully qualified lawyer.
Master’s degree or postgraduate qualification is a plus.
Languages:
Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
Any further language is a plus.
Professional Experience:
Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience as legal counsel exercise within an international company and/or top-tier law firm environment.
Strong experience advising on renewable energy projects is required; exposure to offshore wind is a plus.
Experience drafting and negotiating complex transactional and project documentation; exposure to EPCs, M&A;, construction litigation, energy management and/or project finance is a plus.
Comfort working across multiple areas of business law (commercial, construction, M&A;, corporate governance, contentious matters and/or regulatory topics), beyond a single specialisation.

Other Requirements
Based in Madrid (international scope). Flexibility to travel when required.
