Our Automotive Division manufactures 12V batteries for all powertrain concepts, covering internal combustion, full electric, and off‑road vehicles. We offer lead‑acid and lithium‑ion batteries for light and commercial vehicles, motorcycles, boats, and more, serving OEMs and the aftermarket through our own and customers’ top brands.
We are looking for a Plant Human Resources Manager to join permanently our team in Azuqueca de Henares, Spain. The role reports to the Plant Manager and provides a client‑facing operational HR service to the plant.
Key responsibilities
* Provide day‑to‑day operational HR advice and guidance to all employees in line with policies and laws.
* Manage the relationship with the Works Council and trade union representatives, participating in national‑level social dialogue and fostering constructive labour relations.
* Coordinate and plan headcount and resources to ensure the right people are in the right roles at the right time.
* Lead or support managers with organisational change projects (restructuring, business projects) in line with local labour laws.
* Provide metrics, KPIs, and headcount data to ensure resources are effectively managed.
* Manage all employee relations matters, maintain strong working relationships with key influencers, and lead wage and collective agreement negotiations.
* Support managers with recruitment, selection, and decision‑making processes.
* Ensure employee competencies, skills, and behaviours are aligned with organisational needs through appropriate programmes.
* Develop programs that raise awareness of EHS, quality, and energy responsibilities to achieve the plant strategy.
* Integrate talent management and performance review tools into the local plant.
* Identify training needs and design suitable training and development actions.
* Deliver appropriate compensation and benefits in line with Exide policy and local collective agreements.
* Manage local internal communications related to appointments and other matters.
* Proactively manage local compliance matters in line with Exide policy.
* Support EHS matters and programmes such as blood lead reductions and accident investigations.
* Lead the HR team, manage budgets and resources according to agreed plans.
* Stay current with local labour laws and legislative updates.
Required qualifications
* Degree in Law or Human Resource Management or a master’s in Human Resources.
* Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience in an industrial or manufacturing HR role, with at least 5 years in an HR manager capacity.
* Demonstrable multinational company experience.
* Proven ability to work in a regularly changing business environment and lead change programmes.
* Experience managing a variety of day‑to‑day operational HR matters, including employee relations, works councils, recruitment, selection, and redundancy management.
* Track record in understanding and applying local labour laws and collective agreements.
* Experience working with external and internal works councils, labour authorities, and conflict resolution.
* Experience supporting a culture where performance is tracked and managed through a robust performance review system.
* Ability to identify, build, and develop talent, and execute development plans aligned with business needs.
