This is a junior position by design. We are looking for someone early in their security career, eager to learn, who will execute and coordinate the information security programme under close guidance from the CIO and grow into greater responsibility over time.
The Junior Information Security Officer supports the build-up of information security capability. Working alongside the CIO, this person will help execute the security roadmap: configuring Microsoft Defender tooling, following up on security alerts, supporting risk assessments, helping draft and roll out policies, and documenting everything.
What we're looking for:
A motivated junior with a genuine interest in cybersecurity. Technical aptitude and willingness to learn matter more than years of experience. The CIO has a strong personal background in information security and will directly mentor this role.
Must-haves:
- 0–3 years of experience in IT or information security (recent graduates with a relevant degree or certification welcome)
- A foundational understanding of information security concepts (identity, access, endpoints, threats)
- Familiarity with the Microsoft ecosystem (Microsoft 365, Entra ID) — through study or work
- Strong willingness to learn and to be mentored
- Good documentation and written communication skills
- Fluent Spanish and English
Nice-to-haves:
- A security certification (e.G. CompTIA Security+, eJPT) or a cybersecurity degree / master's
- Exposure to Microsoft Defender, SIEM/SOC concepts, or vulnerability management
- Awareness of GDPR, NIS2, or regulated-industry contexts
- Any hands-on experience (labs, internships, CTFs, home projects)
Profile signals we appreciate: xhfqzwm
- Demonstrated curiosity: home labs, personal projects, CTF participation, self-study
- Candidates who completed a cybersecurity-focused education
- Candidates who communicate clearly in writing
- Candidates excited to be mentored by an experienced practitioner
Process:
- Shortlist of 4–6 candidates within 4 weeks
- First round: agency screening
- Second round: joint interview with Hiring Manager and C-Suite
- Final round: scenario / case study discussion in office
- Reference checks required
