The BETA Technology Centre is a multidisciplinary team of 150 members. We seek a specialist in European competitive projects to join our management team, bringing initiative, organisational skills, and a dynamic approach.
Responsibilities
As a key figure, the selected person will manage, coordinate and monitor European competitive projects, ensuring correct implementation with deadlines, requirements and objectives as defined by each funding body.
Tasks
- Participation in the implementation of projects and in the definition of internal monitoring and implementation mechanisms.
- Preparation, review and management of project agreements (Grant Agreement, Consortium Agreement) and possible changes or modifications.
- Technical and operational monitoring of the project together with the project IP: planning of deliverables, reports, milestones, results, schedules, and risk monitoring.
- Organization and dynamisation of meetings and events related to the project, both internal and with external partners.
- Coordination of the flow of communication between the members of the consortium, as well as with the funding body, and support in the document management associated with the project.
- Global monitoring of the project's resources and budget, in coordination with the corresponding areas, to ensure its correct execution.
- Responsible for the processes of justification, reporting and preparation of audits, in coordination and with the support of other people and units involved.
- Registration, maintenance and updating of project information in internal management tools.
- Methodological and operational support to the entity's most junior profiles in aspects related to project management and monitoring.
- Participation in the execution of strategic projects of the project office and in the consolidation of processes, tools and criteria for project management.
Required Qualifications
According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, recognition of qualifications issued abroad qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain. If applying for a teaching and research staff (PDI) or 100% research staff (PI) post without official recognition of the qualification required in the call, a declaration of equivalence issued in Spain and a Spanish translation must be submitted. The declaration remains valid for up to 3 years; failure to submit within this period may lead to contract termination in accordance with Article 49(b) of Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015.
If applying for a professional services staff (PTGAS) post without the required recognised university degree, a declaration of equivalence and translation is required, with the same 3‑year deadline.
Applicants with a recognised Spanish master’s degree may qualify for hiring, but must still submit a declaration of equivalence in the call if needed.
- A degree in a field relevant to the subject of the call.
- Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.
- Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.
- Previous experience (at least two years) in managing competitive European research projects.
- Knowledge of European and international R&D;&I; funding programmes, particularly Horizon Europe.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
- Experience in a university or research centre setting.
- Organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Additional Merits
- A university degree in environmental science, chemistry, biology, engineering, social sciences, law or a related field.
- PhD.
- Experience in coordinating consortia for the development of European projects.
- C1 level in English.
- Knowledge of Spanish and Catalan R+D+I funding programmes.
- Additional training in research management and knowledge transfer.
