For our office in Barcelona, we are looking for a:

Claims Support Officer (f/m/d)

in Spain and reporting to the Claims Support Supervisor.

MISSION:

As a Legal Advisor, you will safeguard the Group’s interests by ensuring regulatory compliance, managing cargo claims, supporting operational incident resolution, and driving risk-prevention initiatives. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to protect the company from financial and legal exposure

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Claims Management

· Manage all pre-claims for Spain and Portugal, including file creation in LEINA, document collection, investigations, and survey coordination. · Handle quantified cargo claims up to USD 50,000 for Spain: assess documentation, apply BL Terms and LNM, negotiate settlements, coordinate R&R signatures, and follow up on payments. · Conduct third-party recovery actions by identifying liable parties, issuing debit notes, and ensuring reimbursement.

Operational Incident Management

· Oversee incidents occurring at transshipment ports in Spain (reefer malfunctions, leaks, damages, overweight units, cross-stuffing, etc.). · Investigate causes, identify liability, notify vendors, and coordinate with Operations, Customs, POL/POD, and other departments. · Open and maintain LEINA incident tickets and ensure timely, transparent communication. · Coordinate surveys, propose technical or operational solutions, source vendors and quotations, validate costs, and ensure smooth recovery of units. · Transfer completed incident files to POD Claims teams for cost-recovery follow-up.
