Technological Linguist - Conglomerate Pharma
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Technological Linguist to support the development, optimization, and quality enhancement of machine translation and language technology solutions within a regulated and quality‐driven environment.
This role combines deep linguistic expertise with strong technical capability and is ideal for a professional translator or linguistic specialist who has evolved into language technology, translation automation, and AI‐assisted translation workflows.
The successful candidate will play a key role in improving translation quality, optimizing linguistic assets, supporting adaptive machine translation training activities, and contributing to scalable multilingual content solutions.
This is not a pure Machine Learning Engineering role; however, the position requires someone highly comfortable working with language technologies, translation systems, automation scripting, and commercial machine translation platforms such as Language Weaver.
Key Responsibilities
Create, maintain, and optimize linguistic assets including:
Translation Memories (TMs)
Terminology databases
Standard dictionaries
Glossaries
Controlled language resources
Support auto‐adaptive machine translation model training and optimization activities through commercial MT platforms (e.g., Language Weaver)
Prepare, curate, structure, and optimize bodies of linguistic knowledge for improved translation performance and retrieval accuracy
Assess machine translation output quality through detailed linguistic and technical analysis
Perform root‐cause investigations into translation quality issues, terminology inconsistencies, and model performance gaps
Conduct quality control (QC) and linguistic validation activities across multilingual datasets and translated outputs
Develop and maintain automation scripts (preferably Python‐based) for repetitive or large‐scale language operations, including:
TMX conversions
Dictionary flattening
Terminology variation generation
Linguistic data transformation
Workflow automation
Collaborate with technical, linguistic, and operational stakeholders to improve translation workflows and machine translation effectiveness
Contribute recommendations and expertise to broader language technology and localization process improvements
Support testing, validation, and robustness assessment of trained MT models and linguistic datasets
