Therapeutic Specialist - Cataluña (base Barcelona)

Overview

This role is part of our HIV therapeutic portfolio and focuses on driving business and ensuring patient access in the Barcelona region.

Responsibilities

- Prepare regional business plan and account plans for your territory aligned to local brand plan priorities for HIV, communicate required actions to achieve goals, and initiate systems to monitor sales progress and action plans.
- Identify and map patient referral journey pathways within the HIV territory and facilitate patient access to treatment.
- Achieve sales targets in assigned territory.
- Work in partnership with Regional Market Access and Medical colleagues and Marketing to ensure local access is in place for HIV Gilead medicines.
- Establish and develop business relationships with key customers, accounts, and relevant key opinion leaders; set and achieve customer contact plans and deliver on related KPIs.
- Manage territory budgets for customer contacts, speaker events and other miscellaneous external expenditures.
- Represent company at professional events and promote company products at such events.
- Collaborate with Gilead Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Marketing and Market Access on cross‑functional projects.
- Assist in identifying and resolving issues and opportunities, and communicate proactively to Marketing and Sales management.
- Complete necessary administrative tasks in a timely manner (e.g., updating customer database, expenses).
- Achieve competency levels required in the role and comply with country regulations and code of conduct at all times.
- Travel as required; overnight stays may be necessary depending on location.

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills

- Passion for commercializing breakthrough medicine; strong competitive and commercial mindset; robust scientific acumen.
- Prior experience in pharmaceutical industry required; experience with HIV therapeutic area preferred.
- Scientific degree in Sciences, Pharma or similar required.
- Established contacts with relevant customers.
- Sound scientific expertise and ability to stay current on new emerging data.
- Ability to understand and digest original publications and talks.
- In‑depth understanding of how HIV services are delivered.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead and build working relationships internally and externally.
- Ability to develop strong relationships with key opinion leaders and communicate at C‑level.
- Proven expertise in account planning and cross‑functional account management.
- Self‑motivated, able to work autonomously.
- Familiar with industry trends, competitors, and market information.
- Solid analytical skills; ability to identify and interpret complex issues to provide recommendations.
- Excellent cross‑functional teamwork and communication across channels.
- Travel required.
