**Country**:Spain**Location**:Carrier now has an opportunity for a **Laboratory leader **in **Barcelona, Spain.****What will I be doing as a Laboratory Leader?**- Coordinates the EMC and Environmental testing of existing and new products by allocating resources per prescribed schedules and engineering cost estimates.- Conduct commercial emissions and immunity testing as per CPR and EMC Directive requirements- Provide technical leadership for the lab- Ensures the proper standard work is followed and routinely provides necessary training for various safety issues.- Performs EHS inspections with the EHS functions to address unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and hazards in the respective work area(s) and ensures corrective actions are implemented.- Identifies and acquires new capital equipment to improve laboratory operations. Works with the facility management to ensure necessary infrastructure repairs are instituted.- Provides timely reports on test program status- Provides mentorship to less experienced technicians and specialized training and development of personnel for sophisticated instrumentation control and data acquisition.- Communicates effectively with a vast spectrum of personnel within the facility as well as other outside tests labs.- Routine operation, maintenance, calibration, qualification, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and instruments- Maintenance of test equipment and facilities**To be successful in this role you will**:- Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering testing experience.- Knowledge of test methods and relevant standards- Knowledge of EMC regulations, techniques laws, and accreditation standards for North America, Europe, etc. is required- A balance between strategic thinking/planning skills as well as decisiveness/achieving results.- Ability to assess priorities in a complex and demanding environment.- Excellent organizational and planning skills- Ability to work in environment of diverse layers of skillsets- Ability to handle multiple certification projects concurrently- Fluency in English and another European language would be a plus.**Desired qualifications**- Cognizant of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) regulations- Excellent communication skills and sound technical abilities- Positive attitude and continuous improvement mind-set- Familiarity with EN54 range of standards and CPR.- Experience with EMC- Experience in UL, FM and CCC /China approvals**What can we offer you?**- Competitive salary- Permanent contract- Working in an international and multicultural environment**More about us**:- Creating solutions for people and our planet, our company values are our absolutes -_**_ RESPECT, INTEGRITY, INCLUSION, INNOVATION & EXCELLENCE. _**_We work and win together, while never compromising our values._Carrier is the world’s leader in high-technology heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions.
