Job Summary
This role is built for people who want to work hands‐on with real systems, not just talk about them. As an Application Engineer, you are part of a close‐knit team within Application Engineering. You will work side by side with colleagues, testing, building, improving, and sometimes challenging existing solutions. This is not a standalone role; progress happens together.
You will work with a wide range of digital and physical devices used in modern dental workflows. Over time, you will become the person who truly understands how things behave in practice, not just in theory. A big part of your daily work is experimental. You will combine existing modules, test set‐ups, run trials, and continuously improve workflows. Most of this happens on‐site, close to the systems themselves. This is not a classic remote job or pure office role; it is about getting your hands on the technology and making it work better.
Your Responsibilities
Work with 3D data (STL) and structured data (XML), connecting different dental CAD systems, IOS devices, and service modules
Feed and validate data across interfaces to make the Straumann portfolio usable in different devices and services
Build, test, and improve digital dental CAD/CAM workflows
Set up and run experiments using real systems and components
Turn ideas into practical, working solutions through iteration
Work closely with Application Engineering, Software Development, and an international development network (including AI teams)
Improve tools, workflows, and processes step by step
Keep things simple and document results in a structured way, aligned with medical device requirements
Your Profile
We are not looking for perfect CVs. We are looking for people who actually enjoy working with technology.
Preferred background
Bachelor graduates, Dental Technology
Academic degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Medical Technology
Or similar hands‐on and technical background
What really matters
You like to try things out instead of just thinking about them

You have an interest in digital tools, software, and devices
You are comfortable learning across different fields
What matters is your mindset, your curiosity, and your willingness to work hands‐on with real systems.
Working Style
You will work in a team that builds, tests, and improves real applications every day.
There is a strong focus on experimentation, collaboration, and learning by doing. You will not be managing from a distance; you will be part of the process.
If you enjoy understanding systems in depth, working with your hands and your head, and seeing real results of your work, you will fit right in.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or disability.
