As INDG’s software branch, Grip simplifies content production by combining CGI, rule-based generative AI, and post-production into an easy-to-use content generator that transforms master ad creatives into infinite variations for clients that include The Coca-Cola Company, L'Oréal, LVMH, and Beiersdorf.
As our new Head of Pipeline & Rendering Engineering, you will manage the pipeline team and work closely with our R&D Team, Artists, and Software Development Team. You will define, architect, and develop the core of our production and automation pipeline, which is essential for Grip’s capability to create and deliver high-scale, high-quality product images.
You will lead graphics development projects, mentor colleagues, and provide technical and automated solutions for our artists and ecosystem. Collaborating with Development and Operations teams, you will ensure the pipeline operates efficiently.
Automation is your passion, and you are comfortable with coding. Your goal is to create an automated, state-of-the-art pipeline for stunning visual results, with deep understanding and guidance in Computer Graphics, Rendering, Modelling, Compositing, Workflows, and 3D content production at scale. You aim to combine your technical knowledge with automation driven by code.
What will you be doing?
* Collaborate with CTO and teams to define, develop, and operate the next version of our rendering technology, focusing on creative tooling, pipeline, and end-user software.
* Guide technology choices and define the architecture of our platform.
* Work with Grip development and technical teams to identify shared approaches.
* Develop tools and automation with artists’ needs in mind.
* Build, test, and deploy updates to the pipeline regularly.
* Document and train artists on pipeline use, and implement improvements.
Ideal candidate qualifications:
* 7+ years in Computer Graphics and Science (preferably MSc/PhD) or 3+ years in industry in a similar role.
* Proven leadership and team coaching experience.
* Knowledge of practical OpenUSD application.
* Experience with industry standards in PBR rendering, interchange formats, and industry software (Maya, 3DS Max, Houdini, Nuke).
* Basic software engineering and architecture skills.
* Experience in VFX or animation industries.
* Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, TypeScript, MEL, etc.).
* Experience with revision control systems.
* Deep understanding of PBR, industry shading models, and content pipelines on Windows/Linux.
Nice to have:
* Knowledge of VFX Reference Platform, color management, Houdini, Katana, Unreal, or Omniverse.
