Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides storage, compute and other solutions to customers, globally, and ensures the protection of data with impeccable physical security. The Data Center (DC) Security Team offers physical security solutions to protect AWS personnel, facilities, and customer data.
For our Data Centers in the Zaragoza area, we seek a highly motivated, customer-obsessed Data Center Security Manager (DSM) to support the Data Center Infrastructure Operations team across the Zaragoza Cluster. The DSM will run day‑to‑day data center security operations, support and execute security projects and programs, and ensure audit compliance with AWS policies and procedures.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Coordinate day‑to‑day activities and site security operations.
* Direct and manage contract guard force to run daily data center operations.
* Provide guidance and leadership to contract security provider personnel.
* Evaluate the contract security provider performance and request corrective actions from vendors as needed.
* Handle site security incidents, escalations or any other security related issues.
* Provide after‑hours on‑call management support and participate in emergent, large‑scale event response when needed.
* Participate in recurring data center security audits and reviews.
* Execute established compliance processes with AWS policies, standards, guidelines and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
* Provide input on, and may develop, security methodologies, policies and procedures.
* Write reports and communicate with management on the status of physical security operations.
* Oversee new security construction or retrofit projects.
* Manage the security P&L for assigned site(s), assist management with financial analysis and contribute to financial decisions for security requirements.
* Collaborate with other teams to protect AWS Data Center personnel, information and assets.
A Day in the Life
The Data Center Security Manager oversees security operations, assesses threats and vulnerabilities of the site, and trains and coaches AWS staff on security procedures and policies.
Basic Qualifications
* Fluency in English (speaking, writing, reading).
* Fluency in Spanish (speaking, writing, reading).
* At least 2 years of experience overseeing security operations and working with security vendors/contractors.
* At least 2 years of experience with access control, CCTV and intrusion systems.
* At least 2 years of experience using computers and Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* At least 2 years of experience using data and metrics to improve processes and/or customer satisfaction.
* Ability to be on-call to support out of business hours emergencies remotely and on-site.
* Hold Professional Identity Card (TIP) as security director qualification or ability to obtain one.
* Hold Habilitacion Personal de Seguridad (HPS) or ability to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in security management in a Data Center environment.
* Experience writing and publishing security standard procedures and policies.
* Member of professional bodies such as ASIS, OSAC or CSyP.
