Overview
Postdoctoral position in the Electric Power Systems Unit focusing on the stability of future electric power systems with high penetration of power electronics, contributing to the energy transition towards more sustainable and resilient grids.
We are looking for a talented and motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our Electric Power Systems Unit. The candidate will work on R&D projects focused on the stability of future electric power systems with high penetration of power electronic devices.
Main responsibilities
* Research on the stability of electric power systems with high penetration of renewable energy sources and storage systems connected via power converters.
* Analysis of transient, voltage, and small-signal stability in power systems.
* Development and experimental validation of control algorithms in laboratory environments.
* Dissemination of results through high-impact scientific publications and conference presentations.
* Supervision of PhD researchers.
* Participation in national and international projects related to Smart Grids.
Mandatory Requirements
* PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Automatic Control Systems.
* Knowledge of power systems, power electronics, automatic control, and electrical machines.
* Proven track record in publishing scientific research results.
* Experience in national and international research projects.
* Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, energy storage, signal processing, machine learning, and real-time control systems.
* Experience with DIgSILENT PowerFactory, MATLAB, SimPowerSystems, or other power system modeling tools.
* Experience with HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) and PHIL (Power Hardware-in-the-Loop) systems.
* Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
