The English School of Asturias is a warm, friendly, international school, set in a beautiful location between the mountains and the sea in the north of Spain. Students at the school sit IGCSEs and in the Sixth form the school is transitioning from IB to A levels.
Applications are invited from enthusiastic, dedicated and well qualified Science teachers or existing Head of Science teachers to join the staff.
- Work within the senior school to manage and oversee the Science department
- Track, monitor and evaluate student progress
- Deliver IGCSE, A level and IB DP Chemistry teaching (one year only)
- Provide excellent teaching and learning opportunities in and out of class
- Provide an excellent environment and culture for learning
- Ensure own practice is of a high standard and develop professional skills and knowledge
- Develop and deliver innovative schemes of learning and assessment
- Promote and inspire learners taking into account the needs and progress of all students
- Facilitate peer observation and professional dialogue
- Actively seek student voice and feedback to raise standards
- Involve the SEN team in planning to provide high quality individual support
To teach at least 25 periods out of 40 periods each week.
The weekly timetable is made up of 40 x 45 minute lessons; 8 per day.
All applicants must have at least two years’ teaching experience, a good working knowledge of IGCSE, A level & IB DP methodology and an entitlement to live and work in the European Union.

The English School of Asturias is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational, all-through, international private school in Spain, serving students from the age of 3-18. The all-through school, situated in Pruvia de Abajo, Asturias, has approximately 760 students on record from around 10 nationalities.
The English School of Asturias was founded in 1997. The all-through school offers a bilingual education, with students being taught in both English and Spanish.
