**Job Purpose**
The Head of Global Logistics & Distribution (f/m/d) is responsible to drive the End-to-End logistics and distribution for Straumann Group across the different brands, business units and geographies, in a way that is aligned with the group’s core belief of customer obsession.
This position should embrace all dimensions of logistics & distribution.

A transformation of our current logistics & distribution will be required and the Head of Global Logistics & Distribution will have to drive this transformation across the group, engaging with all relevant stakeholders (e.g., commercial, business units, manufacturing, finance, IT, ) in order to define a customer obsessed set up and implement it. This transformation should address the governance, the organization, the physical network (manufacturing as well as distribution) and the digital tools required to set up a cutting edge and fit for purpose E2E logistics.
Eventually, the Head of Global Logistics & Distribution chain will develop capabilities across the organization and build a strong community of practitioners and experts beyond its direct control.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Drives the transformation of global logistics & distribution, engaging the entire organization through a diagnostic, design and implementation of lean flows focused on customer service and cost management
- Design and implementation of a logistic control tower (systems, processes and manpower) to run an efficient distribution across all brands and technology platforms
- Defines the required network of facilities / warehouses (global, regional and local distribution centers), mapping our current network and defining future set up to drive service improvement and cost management
- Oversees and coordinates the daily execution of warehouse and logistics operations, as well as continuously improving the logistics performance (reporting will be defined as part of the transformation)
- Defines and owns the global logistics and distribution processes, in alignment with all the relevant stakeholders, in order to ensure the most efficient and fully compliant practices are in place across the group
- Manages and improves global and regional customs and trade compliance across all regions and brands
- Develop and maintain global IT system expertise to provide appropriate support to the logistics & distribution users globally
- Drive the digitalization of global logistics, during the initial transformation as well as continuously
- Inspires and develops strong logistics leaders across the group
- Establishes strong collaboration/integration with logistics partners (3 PL “3rd party logistics, forwarders) to further develop logistics infrastructure to meet customer needs
**Requirements needed**
Education and experience
- Master’s degree in supply chain, engineering, commercial and or business administration
- 10+ years business experience in related fields (e.g., supply chain, logistics, distribution, WH management)
- Experience in managing transformations into a global, complex logistics in a fast moving and demanding environment.
- Multi-company, multi-industry (including medical device) experience preferred.
- Experience with supply chain systems and digital solutions
- Fluent English spoken and written, other languages are an asset (DE/FR/ES/PT)
- Global experience, used to work in different geographies and cultures
- Experience with Lean and operational excellence
