About the Role:
The Head of Supply Chain is the face of Supply Chain and Procurement to the Managing Director/General Manager and the Executive Team as well as external stakeholders, such as customers.
They are part of the Market Executive Team, playing a key leadership role in bringing topline, bottomline, cash and organizational ambition of Diageo to life.
Within the Exec, the most important role of the Head of Supply Chain is to make market the #1 supplier in the Advantage Survey within the TBA peer group, and within the top 3 within FMCG. This will come through taking customer collaboration to the next level, delighting our customers, every case, every day, everywhere, and driving value through effective partnership with customers resulting in strong joint business plans and joint value creation.
In addition, they are also accountable to coordinate the interfaces with Planning, Logistics, Brand Change and Innovation and partner with all others as needed to be able to deliver the service, inventory, forecast accuracy/bias, innovation, and cost savings.
- They will lead all the dimensions such as run, improve, and transform,
- They will lead and manage the market specific supply organization,
- They will be the custodian for process, people, and digital capabilities, and operationalizing all the learnings and insights.
- This role will report to the Managing Director/General Manager, with a key seat on their leadership team and will also work in close partnership with Supply Chain and Procurement as well as the Customers.
Interfaces:
This role operates within a highly complex and evolving network with the following dimensions:
- All the Countries/Route to Market channels supervised by the market MD/GM, and consequently all the customers.
- Diageo has a multi-channel approach with on-trade and off-trade; such as Modern Retail, Wholesale, Distributors,
- Direct to Consumer, Amazon, Direct Sales.
- All SC&P; interfaces (function, category). The market holds multiple consumer occasions, and multiple product categories such as, and not limited to Whisk(e)y, Tequila, Gin, Vodka, Rum, Ready to Drink, Low/No Alc, Baileys.
- Digital tools such as, and not limited to APO, OMP, SAP S4 Hana, Anaplan.
Top Accountabilities:
- Run the Market Logistics operation, at the right service (on time, in full, no er ror), cost (logistics cost per case), compliance. Partner with Commercial, Procurement and Supplier(s) to ensure the physical distribution network is fit
- for purpose
- Lead and improve customer engagement and customer collaboration, such as, and not limited to the following:
Champion service:
- Driving reliability: daily/weekly/monthly tracking and improvement of the Case Fill Rate (CFR) on time/in full (OTIF),
- In modern retail, will engage with the customer team, the Diageo market team, and Diageo supply team to diagnose the differences between the Diageo Case Fill Rate and the Service as measured by the Customer (SambC), driving the SambC results to the desired level by the customer.
- Where measured, champion to be the #1 supplier in the Advantage Survey within the TBA peer group, and within the top 3 across FMCG.
Lead JBP/JVC (joint business plans and joint value creation) for the market’s Customer Supply Chain.
- Maximizing OSA (on shelf availability/ shelf out of stock), minimizing Shrink.
- The role holder will design, develop and champion the Logistics part of the Trade Terms, driving win-win solutions for both the customer and Diageo.

- Leading and coaching the in-market supply organization,
- The key sponsor for ensuring the IBP process within the market works to the right standards
- Partner with SC&P; to deliver the 4C’s: customer service, cost, cash, carbon, as well as the Supply Chain innovation. The key interfaces are: - Planning (Integrated Business Planning, Demand and Supply) - Brand Change and Innovation - Third Party Manufacturing
Experience required/Skills/Capabilities
Previous Successful Experience:
- Having directly worked with senior business leadership.
- Customer engagement, especially in Modern Retail, with demonstrated success in improving customer service to industry leading levels, both as measured by the customer, as well as Advantage Survey,
- Hands-on logistics experience
- Minimum 12 years’ experience working within progressive positions within the end-to-end Supply Chain function within multiple disciplines. First hand planning experience in Customer Engagement, IBP, S&OP;, S&OE;
