**Health and Safety Manager**
Location: Rivas-Vaciamadrid / Madrid, Spain
Reporting to the Plant Manager and EMEA H&S;/TPS Managers, you will lead and implement both local and ADM-wide Health, Safety, and Process Safety (H&S;/TPS) initiatives.
**Your key responsibilities include**:
- Implementing EHS systems and procedures to meet site-specific and ADM standards.
- Championing the goal of “Zero is Possible” through engagement with employees, contractors, and visitors, leading by example, and fostering innovative safety practices.
- Delivering H&S; and TPS training for managers, employees, and contractors.
- Monitoring, inspecting, and evaluating process safety and H&S; performance, and partnering with leadership to drive continuous improvement.
- Building a strong safety culture, emphasizing objective achievement, risk prevention, and continuous reduction of hazards.
- Conducting or coordinating risk assessments and developing actionable plans.
- Supporting colleagues in maintaining safe systems by providing expert advice, coaching, and practical guidance.
- Leading investigations of incidents and accidents, determining root causes, and sharing Safety Alerts and Best Practices.
- Reporting significant issues to the Plant Manager and/or Regional EHS/TPS Management.
- Engaging with regulatory authorities on HSE matters and preparing mandatory reports.
- Reviewing and following up on contractors’ H&S; documentation and work procedures.
- Overseeing the effectiveness of waste management on-site.
**Your Profile**
We are looking for a qualified Engineer or professional with a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, Operations, Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field (Master’s preferred). You will combine technical expertise with a collaborative and proactive mindset, bringing strong leadership and operational experience.
- 10+ years of experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain; including at least 5 years in senior leadership within the food/feed industry
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety, environmental, and process safety roles
- Proven expertise in large-scale operations, continuous improvement, and strategic planning
- Strong knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental management systems
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
- Integrity, respect, flexibility, and a strong work ethic
- Fluency in English (other languages a plus)
- Willingness to travel across EMEA
