**Role purpose**:
- Messaging Service Evolution. To support and contribute on Messaging Services features and platforms evolution inside the Vodafone European Region, boosting harmonization and centralization strategies, relying on Network Function Virtualization architectures and contributing in cross-country Messaging Services Evolution projects in cooperation with other Vodafone OpCos within the European Region.
- Consistent tracking, detection and evaluation of technology trends, identify needs and initiate new processes or solution adjustments, including the introduction of new cost-effective technologies and projects.
- Local Demand Process: produce feasibility, scope, design and dimensioning documentation for Local market demand in the domain of Messaging Services. Collaborates with Local or Group commercial to align the commercial and technical requirements
- Service Quality. To grant the certification process to ensure the appropriate service quality in the delivery phase. Testing and acceptance of the new HW and SW releases associated to the services portfolio.
Vendor Management. To coordinate and manage e2e vendor activities, in order to guarantee projects time to market and compliancy to end user requirments To support vendor activities during the project deployment, in order to guarantee time to market and compliancy to user requirements. HW and SW release management, customization, testing and deployment for the suppliers’ deliverables is mandatory. Work with suppliers to understand the available solutions, solving issues around the existing solutions and collaborates in the supplier selection.
- Service Platform Life Cycle. To grant all the messaging service platforms are running on the proper software and hardware releases and their corresponding service configuration level. Accountable for driving service platforms configuration, design and implement service platforms network integration and run the corresponding functional testing. Proactive service monitoring working with most relevant service KPIs from Vodafone Data Warehouse.
Industry standards 3GPP and GSMA, with special focus on SMS, MMS, IMS, RCS and VoLTE

E2E general understanding of the network elements, main protocol data units (PDU) and interaction within service flow.

**Key accountabilities and decision ownership**:
- Engineer Delivery Manager. Define, design and implement solutions to fit Business requirements
- Vendor Management, external and internal suppliers, ensuring the delivery of services
- Collaboration with national and international peers at Technology or Commercial areas and Executives within various VF European companies, Network Strategy & Engineering and other VF-Group or Local Market teams.
- Solutions Design & Implementation, including Certification & testing activities and post deployment support
- Messaging Service Platforms Life Cycle. Ensure the correct sizing and capacity of the messaging systems
**Core competencies, knowledge and experience**:
- Leadership experience as program or project manager
- Long-standing (over 7 years) professional experience
- Cross-functional and multi-cultural collaboration, team-worker
- Delivering results, Manage a changing environment, Customer oriented
- Strong expertise in Messaging Services
**Must have technical / professional qualifications**:
- Career degree - Computer Science or Telecommunications
- High level of written and spoken English
- Knowledge of telecoms technologies, Core Network, Value Added Services, Network Function Virtualization, DevOps/Agile delivery frameworks, Open APIs enabling Digital Ecosystems, Cloud & Containerized environments.
- Ability to work in a changing environment managing multiple & changing priorities
- Project Management Certification (preferred)
- Ability to understand marketing needs and reference market evolution
- Skills on service troubleshooting
