Job Responsibilities:
1. Fashions table and pastry decorations, such as statuaries and ornaments, from sugar paste and icings, using cream bags, spatulas, and various decorating tools.
2. Measures and mixes ingredients, such as flour, flavoring, and fruit, to form confections.
3. Mixes and cooks pie fillings, pours fillings into pie shells, and tops filling with meringue or cream.
4. Turns oven controls to regulate temperatures and set baking times.
5. Decorates products with icing designs, using spatulas and cream bags.
6. Operates and monitors baking equipment and temperature to ensure product quality.
7. Covers filling with top crust, places pies in the oven, and adjusts drafts or thermostatic controls to regulate oven temperatures.
8. Makes icings, decorates cakes and pastries, and blends colors for icings, shaped ornaments, and statuaries.
9. Checks and maintains the cleanliness of equipment and utensils to meet health and safety regulations.
10. Possesses the ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
11. Demonstrates good communication skills, both verbal and written.
12. Willing to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely.
13. Knows the menu and beverage list and can communicate clear suggestions to guests.
14. Has the auditory and visual abilities to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
