**About the role**
We are looking for a driven and energetic **Finance Controller **to help manage our Financial Operations, Financial Reporting, Internal Controls, Statutory Compliance, and more.
You are a great fit if you have strong technical accounting skills and have experience delivering timely and accurate internal and external reporting. You will also need to stay on top of the various statutory requirements across our legal entities. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and tackling problems and challenges proactively.
You will report to the VP of Finance and will have 1 or 2 direct reports depending on team structure developments.
**Key responsibilities you will be in charge of**
- **Treasury & working capital management** (for our 4 group entities, including cash flow analysis)
- **Reporting **(review of management accounts, preparation of consolidated management accounts, preparation of monthly/quarterly reporting)
- **Internal Controls** (ownership of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and internal controls across our legal entities, policies & processes implementation & documentation)
- **Statutory compliance** (working with our local accountants to meet statutory deadlines including VAT & Corporation Tax, supporting preparation of annual accounts, liaising with external auditors)
- **Ad hoc projects and data analysis** (including process improvements/automation, providing financial analysis to support management decision-making)
- **Review and coaching **(review of work performed & coaching junior team)
- **Payroll **(partnering with the People Team to support payroll administration as required)
**Requirements to succeed in this role**
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA etc) with at least 1-2 years of post-qualification experience (some experience with a UK company preferred)
- Experience in a fast-paced and international environment (experience in Series A to B startups preferred)
- Strong technical accounting skills and ability to deliver highly accurate financial information
- Experience working in a multi-entity environment (including group consolidations)
- Experience setting up internal controls, processes & policies (e.g. balance sheet reconciliations, accounting policies, controls implementation + documentation)
- Experience liaising with external auditors (and/or experience working as an auditor)
- Treasury management experience (managing cash flows)
- Experience supporting a fundraising process is helpful but not essential
- Excellent Excel / Google Sheets skills
- Familiarity with Xero is helpful but not essential
- Fluent in English
