- Study of the phenomenon of fast-front (partial discharges) and slow-front (short-circuit faults) transient propagation in direct current networks and comparison of behaviour with alternating current networks.
- Conducting real tests in the laboratory and comparing the results with the studies carried out.
- Simulation of a direct current line using dedicated software (SPACS, ATP and PSPICE) for the above study.

- Manejo avanzado de softwares dedicados para la simulación de transitorios en líneas de media y alta tensión (SPACS, ATP).
- Conocimiento avanzado de programación en diversos lenguajes (M, C#)
- Manejo avanzado de herramientas software para el tratamiento y procesado de medidas reales.
- Conocimiento de herramientas de diagnóstico del estado de los aislamientos en líneas de media y y alta tensión mediante la medida de transitorios de frente rápido (descargas parciales)
- Advanced handling of dedicated software for simulating transients in medium and high voltage lines (SPACS, ATP).
- Advanced knowledge of programming in various languages (M, C#)
- Advanced handling of software tools for the treatment and processing of real measurements.- Knowledge of diagnostic tools for assessing the condition of insulation in medium and high voltage lines by measuring fast-front transients (partial discharges).
Specific Requirements
- Experiencia en montajes de laboratorio de media y alta tensión.
- Experiencia en proyectos europeos de I+D.
- Experiencia en el análisis de variables de incertidumbre y parámetros específicos para simular líneas subterráneas de media y alta tensión.
- Experiencia en el manejo de softwares de diseño 3D y de impresoras 3D para la fabricación de prototipos.
- Dada la naturaleza de I+D del proyecto donde se enmarcan las tareas a desarrollar, se valorará positivamente el estar inscrito en un programa de doctorado de la UPM con una propuesta de tesis en la línea con dichas tareas.
- Dado que las tareas a acometer necesitan de amplios conocimientos de electricidad y electrónica, e valorará positivamente la titulación en doble grado de Ingeniería eléctrica y electrónica industrial y automática.
- Experience in medium and high voltage laboratory assemblies.- Experience in European R&D projects.
- Experience in the analysis of uncertainty variables and specific parameters for simulating medium and high voltage underground lines.
- Experience in the use of 3D design software and 3D printers for the manufacture of prototypes.
- Given the R&D nature of the project in which the tasks to be carried out are framed, being enrolled in a UPM doctoral programme with a thesis proposal in line with these tasks will be considered an advantage.
- Given that the tasks to be undertaken require extensive knowledge of electricity and electronics, a double degree in Electrical Engineering and Industrial and Automatic Electronics will be considered an advantage.
