This role is responsible for overseeing and managing engineering projects at a manufacturing site, including both GXP and non‑GXP projects. It involves planning, coordination, and execution of projects aimed at improving manufacturing processes, enhancing productivity, and ensuring product quality. The role collaborates with multiple functions to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Management: develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocations; define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders; develop and collaborate on the elaboration of GXP documents such as URS, DQ, DQR, and qualification documents; ensure projects meet safety and quality standards; lead, manage and execute different phases of a project; monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Process Improvement: analyse current manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement; implement Lean manufacturing principles and other process optimisation techniques; develop and test new manufacturing methods and equipment to enhance efficiency and quality.
Collaboration and Communication: work closely with cross‑functional teams, including production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain; communicate project status, updates, and risks to stakeholders and management; prepare and present reports, documentation, and technical drawings.
Quality Assurance: ensure that manufacturing processes comply with quality standards and regulations; conduct risk assessments and implement quality control measures; participate in root‑cause analysis and corrective action for quality issues.
Vendor Management: manage the vendors involved in the projects (quotations, ejection, etc.); source and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers; identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovation to enhance efficiency and safety; oversee the execution of the PTW system of the project assigned.
Budget and Cost Management: prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost‑effective solutions; identify cost savings opportunities and implement cost reduction initiatives; monitor and control project expenditures.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; 3‑5 years of experience managing engineering projects in a manufacturing environment; strong leadership, project management, and organisational skills; knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies; familiarity with manufacturing equipment and technologies; effective communication and interpersonal skills; excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
Preferred: Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively engage in multicultural environments; appetite and curiosity for geopolitical topics, technological and supply‑chain innovation, automation, sustainability, and digital; global mindset, entrepreneurial mindset, business insight, resilience & assertiveness; excellent English & Spanish communication skills.
