Overview: Otter Products is currently seeking a ** Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE)** to join our Supply Chain team!
This role, based in **Guadalajara, Mexico** is eligible to work a hybrid schedule with at least 70% of work hours on site, and no more than 30% working from home.
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is a key member of Project Core Teams and acts as a liaison between the business and our suppliers.
The Supplier Quality Engineer is accountable for the review and qualification of manufacturing and quality for assigned Suppliers.
This role may require occasional domestic and international travel (up to 10%) to support on-site evaluation of potential suppliers to identify risks, manage corrective actions, and provide training.
This role will work with Process Quality Engineers (PQEs) in communicating project requirements to suppliers.
The Supplier Quality Engineer position requires strong cross-functional collaboration with other Supplier Quality Engineers, Process Quality Engineers, Project Teams, and Supply Chain Functions as an essential key to our success.
The Supplier Quality Engineer will also support Otter's Security Team with supplier training and audits for annual qualification of suppliers in the region and potentially, internationally.
**Location**: ***Carretera Base Aérea ******** Zapopan, Jalisco, México ***** **Morning Shift**: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM - Support Supplier evaluation efforts including auditing of Sub-tier suppliers as needed - Ensures the Quality Control Plan (QCP) for each project is being followed by the supplier via various auditing activities - Review Assembly Specifications prepared by the Process Quality Engineer (PQE) including Required Sequence of Operations with the Supplier - Support continuous improvement projects at suppliers as needed - Assist Otter's Security team with supplier auditing needed - Provide support to Core Project Team functions with supplier related activities as needed - Monitor and ensure change requests, deviations, and other activities are properly documented in Agile PLM - Support Supplier Corrective Action Management (SCAR) including the ability to lead and provide training on Root Cause Analysis (RCA) tools - Support and maintain a positive safety culture by following all safety policies and procedures and actively contributing to a safe working environment - Understand and follow all Mexico safety and health standards and facility-specific supplier and distribution center safety protocols and regulations when working onsite - Follow company safety policies and protocols for immediate reporting of hazards and risks to employee's health and safety to company's Safety Manager and/or employee's direct Supervisor - ** At least 70% of work hours on site, and no more than 30% Telework.
** Employee must comply with company's remote work policy, and maintain any required provided equipment or materials - Other duties as assigned Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or similar.
Experience is acceptable in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of three years of experience in relevant manufacturing environments in a Quality or Engineering discipline required - Experience with Supplier Management preferred - ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or other ASQ Certifications preferred - Continuous improvement experience in a manufacturing environment (Sig Sigma, Kaizen, etc.) preferred - Ability to read/write/speak English required.
