Overview
Job ID: 10412324 - Amazon Spain Services, S.L.U. Amazon has launched the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) to provide utility computing in the EU. This role is part of the AWS Managed Operations team, responsible for building, operating and evolving teams dedicated to delivering high-availability services such as EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda and Bedrock exclusively for EU customers.
Responsibilities
* Oversee ongoing operations and expansion of the ESC, collaborating with global AWS teams and influencing the evolution of AWS services and technology.
* Operate and improve one of the largest software systems: review operational health, produce actionable bug reports, implement change management, resolve backlog issues, and develop scripts to accelerate root-cause analysis.
* Participate in on-call rotations to resolve incidents occurring out-of-hours.
Eligibility
* Fluency in written and spoken English.
* National of an EU member state and resident in the EU.
* Relocation support will be provided for successful applicants within the European Union.
Basic Qualifications
* Experience in Linux OS and network troubleshooting, or experience in networking administration and troubleshooting.
* Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language.
Preferred Qualifications
* Ability to execute standard operating procedures and follow operational best practices.
* Experience in systems engineering, site reliability engineering, and building and operating systems at scale.
* Knowledge or experience operating 24x7 high-availability, distributed software applications, performance tuning, and optimizing fleet utilization and monitoring frameworks such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, Elastic, or similar.
* Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as CDK, CloudFormation, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or similar.
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and generative AI technologies, including automated deployment, configuration management, continuous integration workflows, prompt engineering, model deployment, and AI-powered automation tools.
