Your Day-to-Day
Perform valve setpoints calculations and update of valve datasheet according with customer requirements
Perform weak-link calculations
Analyze and evaluate valve traces obtained during the diagnostic works performed over the valves required by our customer
Develop valve sizing requirements for plant design or modifications.
Develop technical reports within the Valve Engineering discipline
Identify problems and propose solutions (troubleshooting) to projects and tasks that are identified by our customer at nuclear power plant related to valves
Provide technical assistance to outage activities at customer site (initially focused on Spanish plants but could be for international plants also); during these periods of time, it could be necessary to work on specific shifts to be adapted to plant needing (8 to 12 hours per day)
Develop technical reports related to outage activities
Provide technical support to other disciplines (I&C, electrical, civil & structural, license, layout) in different projects and design modifications
Communicate nature and status of work performed to appropriate technical lead and management
Participate in customer, vendor, and regulator meetings as needed to present technical materials and justification of services and product designs
Perform work within established scope and schedule requirements
Selected candidate could be hired in Vila Seca, or in Madrid.
Who You Are
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical preferred). Nuclear Engineering Master will be valued
Experience with MOV (Motor Operated Valves) and AOV (Air Operated Valves)
Experience with Microsoft Office Software Suite (specially focused on Access and Excel)
Experience with traces Analysis Software (i.e. QUIKLOOK)
Analytical skills over mechanical and electrical issues on MOV and AOV
Detailed knowledge over ASME and ASME OM standards and EPRI guides
Ability to travel to other Westinghouse offices and Customer sites (international travel included)
Desired Skills
Fluent in written and spoken English (minimum B2 or equivalent)
Fluent in written and spoken Spanish
Fluent in written and spoken Catalan (it will be valued)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and teamwork oriented
Strong time management skills (working to a deadline while balancing multiple tasks)
Be able to resolve complex problems
Be customer oriented and used to deal with plant customer staff
Be used to deal with problems and emergent issues at nuclear power plants
Any specific nuclear knowledge will be valued
Highly motivated with a desire to improve and continually develop
