Key ResponsibilitiesLead and facilitate regular Community of Practice (CoP) sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing eventsPublish monthly newsletters to keep the community informed and engagedManage Developer Experience (DevEx) surveys, analyze results, and drive actionable improvement plansStandards & Best PracticesAudit project compliance to internal technical standards and processesDevelop best practices for managing external dependenciesContribute to updates of Coding GuidelinesBuild frontend and backend templates based on established patterns to streamline new project setupsOversee rule management for internally used tools in alignment with Coding GuidelinesDrive improvements in secure coding maturityExplore, evaluate, and pilot new tools or automation to enhance developer efficiencyMetrics & InsightsServe as a subject matter expert on developer productivity tools (e.g., Linear-B, BlueOptima, CoPilot)Deliver regular reports and actionable insights to engineering leadershipManage relationships with vendors of developer analytics solutionsCoaching & SupportAdvise engineering teams on using internal frameworks and tools like Checkmarx (Application Security) and SonarQube (Code Quality)Coach teams on best practices for secure development and code qualityHelp define and maintain technical interview standardsParticipate in candidate assessments during technical interviewsSupport the onboarding of new developersUpskilling & GrowthPropose appropriate tool and coordinate skill assessments, identify skill gapsOrganize training initiatives including tech talks, coding workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessionsRecommend relevant online learning platformsStay informed on emerging technologies and suggest practical adoption strategiesRequirementsExtensive software engineering background with 7+ years of professional development experience, including time as a senior or lead engineerProven track record of technical leadership, guiding teams in adopting standards, tooling, and architecture best practicesTrack record of building business-critical software from the ground upStrong facilitation and community-building skills—able to lead knowledge-sharing sessions, workshops, and cross-team initiativesDeep understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/Lean methodologiesFamiliarity with modern DevOps and CI/CD practices, including monitoring, testing, and release strategiesHands-on experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or AzureComfortable working across frontend and backend technologies with experience in Microsoft technology stackStrong communication and coaching skills—able to mentor engineers and influence without formal authorityAbility to synthesize technical trends into actionable plans, pilot tools, and recommend process improvementsDemonstrates strong bias for action and resultsExperience working in integral or multicultural teams, with strong collaboration and empathy skillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related fieldNice to HaveMaster's degree in Computer Science, Engineering Management, or a related disciplineExperience in engineering enablement or developer productivityBackground in technical program or project managementCertification in Agile, ITIL, or other relevant frameworksVendor management experiencePPG pay ranges and benefits can vary by location which allows us to compensate employees competitively in different geographic markets.
