About the job
In our growing division Automotive in Azuqueca de Henares (Spain) we are looking for a
Manufacturing Supervisor. The role reports to the Manufacturing Manager and is responsible for ensuring a smooth production process with respect to quality, quantity, costs, delivery deadlines and safety. The supervisor leads at least one production team, interacts with other departments involved in the production process, and participates in the implementation of preventive and corrective actions. The position is crucial for plant operations and serves as the major link between the Production Manager and the direct workforce.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage a group of Team/Shift Leaders, delegating, coaching, and motivating them, who in turn manage the Operators.
Understand what motivates people to perform at their best and provide open, positive feedback to generate commitment and facilitate development.
Cascade information relating the Company and Operations to the Team Leaders.
Order raw material and monitor its accuracy in production.
Focus on EHS: keep employee safety in mind and foresee environmental consequences; monitor EHS in the production area and ensure plans are executed.
Schedule work for operators on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis; prepare monthly reporting on scrap and lead variance.
Monitor 5S and continuous improvement tools; apply problem‑solving techniques as needed.
Report KPIs and interact with the maintenance department.
Manage the production area and related projects to ensure efficiency, conveying objectives, deadlines and expectations.
Apply CIP principles on the shop floor, participate in CIP and control room meetings, and report performance (scrap, labor efficiency, parts produced) while escalating issues that require support.
Suggest improvements and opportunities to streamline operations.
Participate in physical inventories.
Ensure the highest product quality to increase customer satisfaction.
Stop the production process if safety or quality standards are at risk.
Define training and development plans for team members.
Requirements
Technical or advanced engineering degree.
Five or more years of experience in senior roles within a production plant; experience in the automotive sector and/or assembly line production is an advantage.
Active participation in lean management and Six Sigma projects; ability to share best practices in continuous improvement.
Proven track record in team management, setting goals, generating strong team spirit, and training teams.
Experience optimizing working time and schedules for direct workforce.
Experience with lead and other raw materials.
Strong focus on quality targets and customer satisfaction, including managing customer quality requirements and applying the necessary tools to meet them.
Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and relevant legislation for the working area and EHS.
Business‑fluent English language skills.
Proactive communication with colleagues.
IT skills and good knowledge of IT tools.
