ServiceNow CMDB Specialist

My client is the air transport industry's IT provider, delivering solutions for airlines, airports, aircraft, and governments. Their technology powers more seamless, safe, and sustainable air travel.
The mission of this role is to rebuild the CMDB from the ground up by defining a solid data model, governance, and structure, and establishing accurate, maintainable service maps that support incident management, change impact analysis, and overall operational effectiveness.
Map dependencies between CIs across applications, middleware, compute, network, cloud, etc.
• Validate maps reflect production reality and support impact/root-cause analysis.
Data Quality & Validation
• Identify gaps, duplicates, or incorrect relationships and coordinate remediation with data owners. • Apply defined data-quality checks and escalate unclear rules.
Event & Monitoring Correlation
* Ensure mapped CIs are usable by monitoring and event correlation tools.
* Work with monitoring teams to align CI modeling with events, alerts, and correlation needs.
* Contribute to improving alert quality and dependency accuracy.
Produce the foundational CMDB governance documentation (technical standards, modeling rules, data requirements) and provide feedback to support continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Engineering, Monitoring teams and CSO teams to gather correct inputs.
• Now Assist, Copilot, data-quality automation) to accelerate mapping, simplify repetitive tasks, and improve documentation consistency.
Data quality validation executed, and corrections coordinated.
* Strong knowledge of IT environments (applications, middleware, networks, compute, cloud)
* Strong experience with ServiceNow CMDB including Discovery & Reconciliation (IRE) ensuring accurate, de- duplicated data through proper configuration of relevant MID servers, credentials, schedules and CI class management
* ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist CIS certification (CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping) preferred.
* Minimum 3 years designing and implementing ServiceNow CMDB in enterprise environments
* Proven experience leading the design and build of ServiceNow CMDB in enterprise environments, including strong ownership of CSDM structure and architecture. Solid understanding of monitoring/event concepts and CI Correlation
* ITIL / Process
* Strong understanding of ITIL principles and core ITSM processes (Incident, Change, Problem, Service Transition) and how they consume CMDB data.
* Experience performing data-quality checks and coordinating remediation
AI Skills & Digital Fluency
• Now Assist, Microsoft 365 Copilot, etc..) Escalates unclear or missing governance rules to the CMDB Implementation Project Manager.
Experience supporting audit evidence and compliance documentation related to CMDB data.
