About the project
The Tarranix Project drives the development of a three-dimensional photonic chip based on optical transistorscapable of processing up to six logical states through light polarization, overcoming the limitations of current binary electronic and quantum systems.
Through the precise manipulation of polarization and the integration of multilevel logic gates, Tarranix paves the way for a new era of ultrafast, energy-efficient, and scalable computing.
We are seeking a candidate with strong scientific leadership and an innovative mindset to lead the theoretical modeling, simulation, and experimental validation of the 3D photonic transistor.
Your mission
As
Principal Researcher in Photonics
, you will take on the
scientific leadership
of the design and validation of the 3D optical transistor and its multilevel logic gates. You will be responsible for ensuring the
scientific coherence and technological feasibility
of the project, coordinating simulation and experimental teams.
Key responsibilities
* Lead the
theoretical design
of the photonic transistor and its polarization architectures.
* Develop
advanced optical simulations
using Lumerical FDTD, ANSYS, and COMSOL Multiphysics.
* Experimentally validate results through optical testing and birefringence and dispersion characterization.
* Coordinate the integration of
photonic materials
(SiN, GaAs, graphene, silicon nitride) into the design workflow.
* Supervise the theoretical–experimental correlation phases and develop predictive models.
* Contribute to scientific publications and patent applications.
* Collaborate in the
planning of optical tests
in laboratories and cleanroom environments linked to the project.
Requirements
* PhD in Photonics, Applied Physics, Optoelectronic Engineering, or related fields.
* Over
5 years of experience
in research and development of integrated photonic devices.
* Proficiency in simulation tools (Lumerical, COMSOL, MATLAB, Python).
* Proven experience in leading R&D projects and multidisciplinary teams.
* Excellent scientific communication and technical writing skills.
Position details
* Annual gross salary: €30, monthly payments).
* Performance bonus: equivalent to 10% of the annual gross salary, linked to the final validation and technical success of the project.
* Location: Carrer d'Amadeu Torner, 33, 08902 L'Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona).
* Access to state-of-the-art photonic equipment and collaboration with external laboratories and cleanrooms.
* Integration into an interdisciplinary team of scientists, physicists, and engineers in an applied innovation environment.
* Upon project completion, if the role remains necessary and performance evaluation is positive, there will be the possibility of contract renewal or conversion to a permanent position, depending on scientific needs and available funding.
