Overview
Head of Accounting – Multinational automotive company headquartered in La Pobla de Claramunt, Catalonia. Responsible for supervising accounting, finance, and taxation functions across Spain and Portugal.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the accounting for all entities in scope, coordinate monthly reporting, and monitor accounting information.
- Implement process simplification and improvement measures in alignment with the Accounting Department’s objectives.
- Achieve cost‑reduction targets linked to accounting functions.
- Coordinate the accounting cycle and supervise production reports to meet Group accounting standards, reporting standards, and legal requirements.
- Ensure effective debt management and compliance with Group standards and legal measures.
- Manage relationships with auditors, external agents, and external service providers.
- Prepare action plans, manage budgets, and oversee recruitment, staff turnover, and investments.
- Monitor performance indicators, conduct annual appraisals, and develop staff skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Administration, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in accounting, management, and high‑volume invoicing.
- High level of English (medium/high). French and/or Portuguese language desirable.
- Experience in the automotive sector and knowledge of Portuguese accounting legislation highly valued.
- Proficiency in SAP preferred.
- Rigorous, autonomous, and team‑oriented mindset.
