Position Summary / Mission
As the Global Executive Director for Compliance, you will shape and lead the compliance program that safeguards Almirall’s reputation, enables sustainable growth, and reinforces our commitment to patients, partners, and society. This strategic role is key in embedding ethics, integrity, and transparency into every aspect of our global operations, ensuring Almirall remains a trusted, responsible, and future‑ready pharmaceutical company. With high ethical standards and proactive leadership, governance, and influence, you will help reinforce and maintain the position of compliance as both a safeguard and a strategic enabler of Almirall’s long‑term ambition.
Core Responsibilities
* Lead the global compliance strategy, embedding ethics and integrity into Almirall’s long‑term business model and culture.
* Lead and coordinate Almirall’s global compliance and privacy network, working closely with Country Compliance & Privacy leaders to ensure consistent deployment of the compliance and privacy programs, local relevance, and alignment with global standards, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
* Design and implement a future‑ready compliance framework that supports sustainable growth, operational excellence, and stakeholder trust.
* Govern corporate global policies aligned with the long‑term strategy of the company that reflect Almirall’s values and regulatory commitments.
* Oversee promotional compliance and transparency initiatives to ensure responsible engagement with healthcare professionals and full regulatory alignment.
* Oversee global third‑party risk management, including due diligence and monitoring.
* Lead the development and implementation of anti‑bribery/anti‑corruption (ABAC) policies, training, and controls.
* Direct and oversee internal investigations in collaboration with other internal stakeholders, of the whistleblowing channel and any other investigations related to compliance, ethics, and criminal risk.
* Monitor and anticipate regulatory changes, adapting policies and practices to maintain agility and relevance across geographies.
* Proactively monitor compliance risks, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement in compliance controls and reporting.
* Champion a culture of ethical leadership through training, engagement, and governance, reinforcing Almirall’s reputation as a responsible industry leader.
* Advise senior leadership and members of the executive board on strategic compliance matters, contributing to enterprise risk management and decision‑making.
* Actively engage in relevant internal committees ensuring strategic oversight, cross‑functional alignment, and governance of compliance risks.
* Integrate into the General Counsel Area Leadership Team, embedding Almirall’s leadership behaviors and acting as a role model for the organization.
* Represent Almirall externally with regulators, patient associations, and industry bodies, strengthening trust and advocacy.
Required Education and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Life Sciences, or related field.
* Advanced degree (e.G., MBA, JD, or Master’s in Compliance) and certifications (e.G. CCEP) preferred.
* 10‑15+ years of experience advising a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical device company on compliance matters is required.
* 5+ years of in‑house experience required.
* Experience with third‑party risk management, ABAC, and criminal risk mitigation in a global context.
* Regulatory experience as well as working knowledge of GDPR a plus.
* Experience leading the development, design, and implementation of compliance training programs, conducting or directing internal investigations, developing risk management strategies, and drafting policies and standard operating procedures.
* Proven track record of leading global compliance programs and teams.
* Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities.

* Visionary leader and trusted advisor with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization. Capable of driving change and embedding compliance into business strategy.
* Ability to align compliance initiatives with long‑term business goals. Skilled in policy development and global program deployment.
* Strong analytical skills, including experience with compliance data analytics, monitoring tools and common whistleblowing tools such as EQS or Navex.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable representing the company externally and internally.
* Operates with a high degree of autonomy. Accountable for global compliance outcomes and reputational impact.
* Experience working across diverse cultures and regulatory environments. Ability to adapt and lead in a global context.
