What you'll do:

As the Purchasing Manager based in Madrid, you will play a pivotal role in shaping procurement strategies that span multiple countries. You will be responsible for building strong supplier relationships through rigorous selection criteria, ongoing evaluation, and effective negotiation of contracts. By managing RFPs and monitoring supplier certifications via third-party audits, you will uphold the highest standards of quality while maintaining optimal stock levels across various plants. Your ability to anticipate market trends will enable you to proactively address changes in supply dynamics. Success in this role requires a keen focus on maximising customer service through efficient order planning while continuously driving process improvements that align with broader business goals.

* Implement purchasing and procurement processes in accordance with company policies while adapting them to local specificities for optimal results.
* Coordinate with colleagues across different countries to facilitate knowledge sharing of best suppliers and procurement practices.
* Establish robust sourcing procedures that meet business objectives regarding price, quality, and delivery targets at both regional and global levels.
* Manage supplier selection, evaluation, and rationalisation of supply chain solutions including inventory management, shipments, and safety stock levels.
* Monitor supplier certification through approved independent third-party audits as well as ongoing surveillance audits to maintain high standards.
* Create and manage Requests for Proposal (RFPs) ensuring transparency and competitiveness in supplier engagement.
* Develop a regional or local supplier base that sustains competitive advantage by promoting synergy between plants and optimising product stock levels.
* Negotiate contract terms with key suppliers-including service providers-to secure value for money, quality standards, and timely deliveries.
* Define, plan, and monitor purchase orders aligned with company sales at regional or local level to maximise customer service levels.
* Anticipate price fluctuations and market trends to identify shifts in buyer-supplier power dynamics while reporting on performance improvement plans.

Your extensive background as a Purchasing Manager equips you with the technical acumen necessary for overseeing complex procurement operations within a multinational setting. * Demonstrated experience of more than five years in purchasing or procurement management within a multinational context or similar industry environments.
* Proven track record of coordinating procurement activities across multiple countries or regions with an emphasis on knowledge sharing and collaboration.
* Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in additional languages is considered an asset for effective communication across diverse teams.
* Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Economics or Engineering is required for understanding complex business scenarios.
* Expertise in supply chain management including planning, monitoring, optimising logistics flows, cost control, and minimising dependence risks.
* Ability to identify, select, qualify suppliers based on internal client needs while establishing long-term partnerships that benefit the organisation.
* Advanced skills in contract negotiation ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks while securing favourable terms for the company.
* Experience managing contractual relations with suppliers including defining KPIs/SLAs for performance measurement under contract agreements.
* Competence in financial risk management related to company operations aimed at minimising costs without compromising quality or service levels.
* Capability to analyse market scenarios through research studies supporting economic impact evaluations of buying decisions.
