Responsibilities
* Be the packaging expert for the organization.
* Own all packaging related activities for assigned products.
* Ensure that packaging is developed and specified to meet the needs – lead material and supplier qualification efforts.
* Act as the contact with procurement for supplier allocation across packaging lines.
* Ensure that all packaging activities are properly documented (specs, drawings, qualifications, change controls, etc.).
* Provide technical support for quality discussions with material and equipment suppliers – handle the complaint process (oversight investigations, follow-up CAPAs).
* Improve finished product palletization efficiency.
* Reduce stops and OEE loss due to material quality – drive improvement projects.
* Reduce the number of complaints related to packaging material and propose improvements.
* Create the technical documentation of packaging material.
* Propose investments to improve quality and efficiency of the machines.
Qualifications and Personal Skills
* Education: BS or MS in a scientific or engineering discipline.
* Languages: Fluent Spanish; English is a plus.
* Experience (years/area): 5 years in a relevant packaging role.
* Experience with developing blister, cartoner, shipping, pallets/logistics, artworks, keylines, and labeling.
* Experience with packaging equipment – blister, labelers, cartoners, etc.
* Experience writing and managing documentation (specs, drawings, qualifications).
* Specific knowledge: Pharmaceutical experience and regulatory knowledge is valuable.
* Travel: Open to travel occasionally.
