ABOUT THE ROLE
The Regional Financial Controller plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the assigned region. This position is responsible for providing strategic financial guidance, maintaining robust financial controls, and delivering accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making. By overseeing financial operations and collaborating with regional and corporate teams, the Regional Financial Controller helps drive profitability, manage risk, and ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate standards
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the preparation and timely submission of accurate financial statements and reports.
2. Analyze financial results and provide insights to senior management on performance against budgets and forecasts.
3. Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.
4. Lead and manage month end and year end closing activities to group timelines.
5. Lead the regional budgeting process, working with department heads to create realistic budgets.
6. Monitor and report on budget variances, providing explanations and recommending corrective actions.
7. Prepare and update financial forecasts based on the latest data and trends.
8. Ensure that all financial operations within the region comply with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
9. Manage tax compliance of the company in each jurisdiction, with the assistance of the tax consultants where required.
10. Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
11. Liaise with auditors during financial audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
12. Partner with the wider finance team to implement and apply consistent and standardized global accounting practices and manage compliance with the same.
13. Manage, mentor, and develop the regional finance team, ensuring high levels of performance and engagement.
14. Foster a collaborative environment and promote continuous learning and professional development.
15. Support senior management in strategic planning activities by providing financial insights and analysis.
16. Evaluate investment opportunities, cost-saving initiatives, and other financial strategies to enhance profitability.
17. Collaborate with regional business units to align financial goals with operational strategies.
