Internship Overview
Intern: Academy technical consultant graduate – Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) | Tenerife.
A highly motivated Academy technical consultant graduate based in Tenerife supports the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) team while gaining hands‑on exposure to Medtronic’s portfolio of pacing and defibrillation therapies. This role provides a strong foundation in both clinical and technical aspects of CRM, combining field experience with structured learning.
The intern will actively participate in day‑to‑day operations alongside Technical Consultants, attending procedures, supporting device follow‑ups, and understanding patient pathways. They will progressively build knowledge across key technologies such as pacemakers, ICDs, and leadless systems, while becoming familiar with remote monitoring and digital solutions.
Through close collaboration with cross‑functional teams (Sales, Marketing, and Training & Education), the intern develops a holistic view of the business, improving communication, problem‑solving, and adaptability in dynamic clinical environments. The experience in Tenerife also offers exposure to unique logistical and organisational challenges, fostering autonomy and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Shadow Technical Consultants in hospital Cath Labs and clinics to observe device implant procedures and follow‑up visits.
- Participate in structured online and in‑person training sessions over a 12‑month period.
- Engage in regular check‑ins with your assigned mentor and TC team for guidance and support.
- Take on regular projects to complement and reinforce your learning.
- Participate in ongoing assessments with dedicated trainers and mentors to track progress.
- Join activities across the European cohort.
Must Haves – Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate with a BA or Master’s in Biomedical Engineering, Cardiac Physiology, or a similar discipline.
- Able to participate full time for a 12‑month program as an intern.
- Legally authorised to work in the country where the position is based on a full‑time basis and does not require sponsorship in the future for an employment visa.
- Driving licence.

- Fluency in English and Spanish.
- Desire to self‑develop and learn technical information at a high level.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays, which may include some unsociable hours.

Additional Information
- Internship agreement.
- Duration: 12 months (extendable plus 6 months).
- Full time.
- Schedule: versátil 7:30‑10:00 to 16:00‑18:30. Fridays and summer months intensive day.
- Study aid of €1000 gross/month plus Food Aid (Ticket restaurant).
