Performs journeyman level maintenance and repairs work as carpenter in the Chancery and all U.S. Government office buildings and Government owned/ leased residential quarters. Work includes repair and maintenance of furniture, repairs of façade, roofs, ceiling, windows, flooring, wall, and perform and oversee minor construction and renovation projects. The incumbent will perform regular building inspections for post leased and GO housing and office space to determine condition and SOW, materials and cost for renovation work. For Post Madrid and Consulate in Barcelona, this position uses journeyman skill and experience to be the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for Cultural Heritage buildings and furniture. They will perform or monitoring carpentry restoration work on buildings, antiques and the Cultural Heritage contents.
**EXPERIENCE**: One year journeyman experience as qualified carpenter
**JOB KNOWLEDGE**: Full journeyman knowledge in carpentry to be recognized as "Oficial de Primera" is required.
**EDUCATION**: Secondary school and vocational training program or apprenticeship recognized as fully qualified journeyman carpenter ("oficial de primera").LANGUAGE: Good working knowledge of Spanish speaking/reading/writing. Rudimentary level of English speaking/reading/writing. This may be tested.
